Race For The Light

We are trying to feed 500 families in extreme poverty with a meal from Nov 1 – Oct 31, 2021. Every $40 received part of this campaign provides enough food to last a month for a family of four!


Lumen Vitae & Jesus Youth of America invite you to join a collective effort to walk, jog, hike, swim, bike, dance – 10,714 miles – the distance around the country of Haiti – to bring awareness and funding for hundreds of our families who struggle to have a daily meal.
Every $40 raised through fundraising is able to feed a family of four with enough food for one month!

$40/fundraised – Feeds a family of four in Haiti for one month
$200/fundraised – Feeds a family of four in Haiti for five months
$480/fundraised – Feeds a family of four in Haiti for one year

All funds raised will go directly towards feeding of 500 families in Haiti who participate in the Lumen Vitae child sponsorship program

Register as an individual, create your own team or join a team from anywhere in the world and watch as all of our steps, miles and pledges add up while simultaneously losing those pounds we gained during isolation. Any kind of exercise and physical activity counts!

This fitness campaign is 15 days long (Oct. 18 – Nov 1). During that time, you and your team members will set a goal for the amount of miles you would like to complete and how much your team would like to fundraise. You will have your own fundraiser page with a link to send to friends to encourage them to donate to your team’s efforts.

STEP 1: REGISTER and set up your account anytime between now and Nov 1st. Once you register, you will have your own web page that will track your team’s combined distance and funds you raise together.

Registration: $40/participant (proceeds go toward your overall fundraising goal)

STEP 2: RECRUIT team members from anywhere in the world to join you. Decide together on your goals for distance and fundraising.

STEP 3: TRACK your steps/miles from Oct. 18th – Nov. 1st.

There are three ways to track your progress:

–Download the free Charity Footprints App

–Sync your fitness device (Fitbit, Apple Watch, Garmin, Google Fit, Misfit, Strava) or use the health app on your iphone

–Manually enter your miles on your event page

STEP 4: SHARE your team fundraising page with others so they can support you through donations. Post the link to your web page on social media or send it in a text to friends and family.

There will be prizes for the two teams that:

1. Raise the most funds

2. Accumulate the most miles

We will have teams in the USA, Haiti, and anywhere in the world. This is such a fun way for all of us to get fit while combining our efforts to help families in Haiti!
